Visual Comfort classifies chandeliers 80 cm diameter and above as large. These need at least 2.7 m ceilings, a dining table 200 cm or longer, or a double-height entry. If you have a 4x5 m living room with 2.7 m ceilings, a 70-85 cm chandelier is more proportionate. Send us your room dimensions and we will recommend a scale.

Most large Visual Comfort chandeliers weigh 8-18 kg. Standard Italian ceiling junction boxes support up to 25 kg. To check, look at your existing ceiling rose, if it has a metal cross-bar mounting plate, it is already rated for heavy fixtures. For pieces over 15 kg or older buildings (pre-1970), ask your electrician to confirm the joist or beam can hold the load. We send the exact weight spec before purchase.
