Visual Comfort Hallway Wall Sconces

Space sconces 2.5-3 m apart along the corridor, with the first sconce 1-1.5 m from the entry. For a 6 m corridor, two sconces. For 9 m, three sconces. Mount centre at 165-170 cm from the floor. Use 4-6W warm white LEDs, each sconce gives soft passage light without glare.

Mount the centre of the sconce 165-170 cm above the finished floor. For corridors with high ceilings (over 3 m), the centre can rise to 175-180 cm to keep proportion. Avoid going below 160 cm, which puts the fixture at eye level and creates glare when walking.

For hallways under 6 m, sconces alone are usually enough, spaced every 2.5-3 m with 6-8W LEDs each. For longer hallways or those with high ceilings, add a ceiling flush mount at one end for even coverage. Sconces give warm low-glare light, ceiling fixtures give general task light when needed.
