Visual Comfort Living Room Lamps

At minimum three light sources for a layered look. One ambient (chandelier or floor lamp), one task (reading lamp), one accent (table lamp on a console or buffet lamp). For larger rooms (over 25 sqm) add a fourth lamp for the secondary seating area. All on dimmers and 2700K warm white.

Not exactly match, but coordinate. Lamps in the same room should share either material (all bronze, all brass) or scale (similar height range), but can vary in shape. A pair of identical table lamps on a console works. Mixing identical lamps with a totally different floor lamp also works, as long as the metal finish ties them together.

In open-plan living, use floor lamps to define zones. One floor lamp behind the seating area defines the lounge zone. Another beside the dining area or behind a console marks the entry transition. Avoid placing a floor lamp in mid-floor area between zones, it floats visually.
