How a Malerba order reaches you
Every Malerba piece is produced to your specification after your order is confirmed at VC Gallery. Once the piece is complete, we prepare the shipment and coordinate delivery to your address across Europe. Because furniture logistics depend on volume, weight, brand, and destination, we quote each delivery individually. You receive a full quote before you commit, and tracking once the shipment is dispatched. Our Milan address at Via Filippo Turati 3 is our showroom, open by appointment for clients who wish to see finishes, wood samples, and upholstery combinations in person.
Malerba is Made in Italy to European standards, hand-crafted in the Mombaroccio atelier. Furniture arrives ready to install and does not require electrical adaptation. The brand is known for bespoke work in precious woods, hand-applied lacquer finishes, and select upholstery from Italian textile houses such as Rubelli and Dedar, and collections like Icona, Must Have, and Dresscode define its wood-first design language.
How Malerba delivery is calculated
Malerba is made to order, and every piece is different in volume, weight, and finish. There is no fixed rate. Delivery is quoted individually per project, based on four factors.
- Volume and weight Cubic metres and gross weight of the finished piece drive base transport cost.
- Brand and packaging Malerba pieces travel in custom-built wooden crates that protect veneers and lacquer finishes; this is included in the quote.
- Destination Delivery to Italy and mainland European Union is straightforward. Islands, Switzerland, Norway, Ireland, and remote regions may need road-plus-ferry or dedicated freight.
- Timeline A flexible delivery window often reduces cost. Sharing your target date early usually gives the best rate.
Full quote is sent to you before you confirm the order, and no invoice includes an unknown delivery cost. For a rapid estimate, contact us with the SKU, destination, and any timeline preference you have.
Production and delivery time
Malerba is hand-crafted to order, so total time is production plus transit.
| Stage | Time |
|---|
| Production at the Malerba atelier | 8 to 10 weeks |
| Transit (Italy and mainland European Union) | 7 to 14 days |
| Transit (islands and remote regions) | quoted per project |
Production time starts from order confirmation and can vary by collection, wood type, and finish. Custom lacquer colors, bespoke veneers, marble tops, or upholstery combinations may add time; this is confirmed on the SKU at order time. Sending your project details early always helps our production planning and often improves the delivery cost.
White Glove delivery
Malerba pieces are large and delicate. White Glove service is available on request and covers everything from truck to final placement.
- Delivery to the room of your choice Not only to the door, but into the space where the piece will live.
- Unpacking and inspection Crates opened, protective materials removed, piece placed and checked.
- Assembly Where the piece ships in multiple parts, our team completes final assembly on site.
- Waste removal Crates, protective wrap, and packaging removed and disposed of responsibly.
White Glove is optional and quoted alongside the delivery cost, based on destination and access. It is available for every Malerba order across Europe. Request it on the contact form with your project details.
Countries served
Malerba ships to the following destinations via VC Gallery:
- Italy direct delivery, quoted per project.
- Mainland European Union road freight, quoted per project.
- Switzerland, Norway dedicated freight, customs handled, quoted per project.
- Islands and remote regions Cyprus, Monaco, Marbella, Tenerife, Ireland, Majorca, Sicily, Corsica, Malta, Balearics, Canary Islands. Road-plus-ferry or dedicated freight, quoted per project.
United Kingdom is not currently served through VC Gallery for Malerba orders. For any destination not listed, contact us for an individual quote.
VAT on Malerba orders
Prices shown on VC Gallery include Italian VAT at 22 percent by default. On checkout, the total is recalculated according to the destination country under standard European Union rules. For non-EU destinations such as Switzerland or Norway, Italian VAT is removed and local import taxes apply on arrival, handled through the shipping documentation. Full VAT and customs detail is confirmed on the invoice before you commit.
Customization and delivery
Malerba is made to order, so customization is a core part of the offer. Wood type (noce canaletto, rovere, ciliegio, sukupira, cedro), lacquer color and finish (glossy or matte), veneer patterns, upholstery from partner mills like Rubelli or Dedar, marble tops, and dimensional adjustments are all possible on many collections. Send us the SKU and your preferences, and we confirm what the atelier can produce and how it affects timing.
Custom orders typically add at least 2 weeks on top of standard production time. On larger projects (full dining rooms, bedroom sets, hospitality installations), we recommend planning delivery well in advance so the atelier can align production and shipment. All lead times are confirmed before you commit.
What to do on delivery day
Malerba pieces are large, and finishes are delicate. Checking the shipment at delivery is essential.
- Photograph the outer crate and any protective wrapping before opening.
- If the crate shows visible damage, open it in the presence of the driver.
- Check every surface, wood veneer, lacquer finish, and upholstered section for dents, scratches, marks, or chips.
- Do not sign the delivery note as accepted until you are satisfied the piece is intact.
- If damage is present, take photos and contact VC Gallery within 24 hours.
Why this matters. Transport insurance claims are honored only when damage is reported at delivery. If you sign the delivery note as accepted and inspect the piece later, proving in-transit damage becomes very difficult. If you have booked White Glove service, our delivery team performs the inspection with you and documents any issue on the spot.
Returns and claims
- Returns (change of mind) Malerba is produced to your specification, so there is no refund on change of mind. Please review wood, finish, upholstery, and dimensions carefully before confirming the order. Our team can help by email or in the Milan showroom, and wood or upholstery samples can be sent on request.
- Factory defect Finish flaw, unstable joint, faulty hardware, incorrect assembly, or similar production issue. Send photos and describe the defect. Options: on-site repair by a specialist (we reimburse up to a project-specific limit) or full replacement of the affected element. Return shipping is free.
- Transport damage Dents, scratches, chips, or broken components discovered at delivery. Photograph and report immediately. We file an insurance claim with the carrier and arrange replacement. Return shipping is free.
- Wrong item If VC Gallery or Malerba shipped the wrong SKU, we arrange free exchange. Return shipping is free.
