How a Monitillo 1980 order reaches you
Every Monitillo 1980 piece is produced to your specification after your order is confirmed at VC Gallery. Once the stone is selected, cut, shaped, and finished, we prepare the shipment and coordinate delivery to your address across Europe. Because natural stone furniture logistics depend on volume, weight, packaging, and destination, we quote each delivery individually. You receive a full quote before you commit, and tracking once the shipment is dispatched. Our Milan address at Via Filippo Turati 3 is our showroom, open by appointment for clients who wish to see stone samples, finishes, and metal base combinations in person.
Monitillo 1980 is Made in Italy to European standards, hand-crafted in the Altamura atelier since 1980 with a 12,000 square metre production area. Pieces arrive ready for interior placement and do not require electrical adaptation. The brand is known for the Walls&Floors architectural collection, the Pietre di Monitillo / Home Collection of tables, consoles, coffee tables, benches, and sculptural objects, and the Bath Line of washbasins, bathtubs, mirrors, and shower trays. Long-standing collaborations with international designers such as Emmanuel Gallina, Luca Nichetto, Claesson Koivisto Rune, Studiopepe, Felix Millory, and Atelier DAAA define the design language across every collection.
How Monitillo 1980 delivery is calculated
Monitillo 1980 is made to order in natural stone, and every piece is different in volume, weight, and finish. There is no fixed rate. Delivery is quoted individually per project, based on four factors.
- Volume and weight Stone thickness, slab format, base structure, and total kilograms drive the freight class. A single Ville bench travels very differently from a full dining ensemble with matching consoles, and Bath Line pieces have their own volumetric profile.
- Origin and packaging Every piece leaves Altamura in a custom-built wooden crate with foam edge protection, corner blocks, and moisture barriers designed for natural stone in transit; this is included in the quote and reflects the fragility of polished marble edges and sculptural profiles.
- Destination Delivery to Italy and mainland European Union is straightforward. Islands, Switzerland, Norway, Ireland, and remote regions may need road-plus-ferry or dedicated freight, plus access checks for ZTL zones, historic staircases, and buildings without lift, which matter more when moving heavy stone.
- Timeline A flexible delivery window often reduces cost. Sharing your target date early usually gives the best rate, and consolidated freight is more economical than dedicated single-project trucks. Expedited delivery aligned with a site installation window is available and priced separately.
Full quote is sent to you before you confirm the order, and no invoice includes an unknown delivery cost. For a rapid estimate, contact us with the SKU, destination, and any timeline preference you have.
Production and delivery time
Monitillo 1980 is hand-carved to order, so total time is production plus transit.
| Stage | Time |
|---|
| Production at the Monitillo 1980 atelier | 10 to 12 weeks |
| Transit (Italy and mainland European Union) | 7 to 14 days |
| Transit (islands and remote regions) | quoted per project |
Production time starts from order confirmation and can vary by stone type, finish, and format. Bespoke dimensions, non-catalogue stones, or contract and hospitality orders may add time; this is confirmed on the SKU at order time. Sending your project details early always helps our production planning and often improves the delivery cost.
White Glove delivery
Monitillo 1980 pieces are heavy, sculptural, and fragile at polished edges. White Glove service is available on request and covers everything from truck to final placement.
- Delivery to the room of your choice Not only to the door, but into the space where the piece will live, including stairs, tight corridors, and buildings without lift access, with the right equipment to handle stone weight.
- Unpacking and inspection Crates opened, protective materials removed, every piece inspected for surface finish, polished edges, and any hairline crack, with concerns documented before we leave.
- Positioning and setup Placement on the chosen surface, felt pads or stabilizers applied where relevant, metal bases aligned, and Bath Line pieces set on the plumber-ready position.
- Waste removal Crates, foam, cardboard, and protective wrapping collected and disposed of responsibly.
White Glove is optional and quoted alongside the delivery cost, based on destination and access. It is available for every Monitillo 1980 order across Europe and we strongly recommend it for dining tables above 220 cm, marble consoles, single-slab coffee tables, benches with wengé oak details, or any project involving multiple pieces or Bath Line elements. Request it on the contact form with your project details.

VAT on Monitillo 1980 orders
Prices shown on VC Gallery include Italian VAT at 22 percent by default. On checkout, the total is recalculated according to the destination country under standard European Union rules. EU B2B clients with a valid VIES VAT number receive an invoice without VAT under intra-EU reverse charge. For non-EU destinations such as Switzerland or Norway, Italian VAT is removed and local import taxes apply on arrival, handled through the shipping documentation, on a DDP or DAP basis agreed at the quotation stage. Contract, hospitality, and trade orders receive a full VAT-adjusted quote at the offer stage. Full VAT and customs detail is confirmed on the invoice before you commit.
Customization and delivery
Monitillo 1980 is a bespoke atelier by nature, so customization is a core part of the offer. Stone selection across Bianco Carrara, Calacatta Oro, Emperador Scuro, Verde Imperial, Nero Marquina, Travertino, Grigio Ambra, and the wider atelier library; finishes from polished, honed, brushed, sandblasted, to bush hammered; dimensions within the structural limits of the chosen stone; metal bases in brass, blackened steel, or brushed finishes; wood details such as wengé-stained oak on the Ville family; and full Bath Line configurations for washbasins, bathtubs, mirrors, and shower trays are all possible on many collections. Send us the SKU, the reference drawings, and your preferences, and we confirm what the atelier can produce and how it affects timing.
Bespoke orders typically add at least 2 weeks on top of standard production time. On larger projects (full dining ensembles, villa lobbies, hospitality lounges, or integrated Bath Line concepts), we recommend planning delivery well in advance so the atelier can align stone selection, production, and shipment. All lead times are confirmed before you commit.
What to do on delivery day
Monitillo 1980 pieces are heavy, polished edges are delicate, and Bath Line elements need close attention on arrival. Checking the shipment at delivery is essential.
- Photograph the outer crate and any protective wrapping before opening.
- If the crate shows visible damage, open it in the presence of the driver.
- Check every surface under indirect light for scratches, chemical marks, or dull spots, and inspect polished corners and profiles for chips.
- For Bath Line pieces, verify absence of hairline cracks in the stone body and that all metal fittings are complete.
- Do not sign the delivery note as accepted until you are satisfied the piece is intact, and if damage is present, take photos and contact VC Gallery within 24 hours.
Why this matters. Transport insurance claims are honored only when damage is reported at delivery. If you sign the delivery note as accepted and inspect the piece later, proving in-transit damage becomes very difficult, and natural stone chips can develop after handling if the initial damage was not documented. If you have booked White Glove service, our delivery team performs the inspection with you and documents any issue on the spot.
Returns and claims
- Returns (change of mind) Monitillo 1980 is produced to your specification in your chosen stone, finish, and dimensions, so there is no refund on change of mind. Please review stone selection, finish, and dimensions carefully before confirming the order. Our team can help by email or in the Milan showroom, and stone samples can be sent on request.
- Manufacturing defect Finish flaw, structural instability in the base, cracked stone element, or similar production issue. Send photos and describe the defect. Options: on-site repair by a specialist (we reimburse up to a project-specific limit) or full replacement of the affected element. Return shipping is free.
- Transport damage Chipped edges, cracked stone body, scratched surfaces, cracked Bath Line elements, or broken metal components discovered at delivery. Photograph and report immediately. We file an insurance claim with the carrier and arrange repair or replacement. Return shipping is free.
- Wrong item If VC Gallery or Monitillo 1980 shipped the wrong SKU, stone type, or finish, we arrange free exchange. Return shipping is free.
Full policy on the returns page and claims page. For contract and hospitality orders, warranty and claim terms follow the project agreement.
