Can I safely install a chandelier in my bathroom?

Yes, if the model is damp-rated (IP44 or higher) and you install it outside Zone 1 (the area above a bathtub or shower). The Italian electrical code requires a minimum of 2.25 m from the floor to the base of the [Visual Comfort chandelier]. For installation above a bathtub, IP65 is required.

What size works well without crowding a small bathroom?

For bathrooms under 8 m2, [Visual Comfort & Co.] chandeliers measuring 40-55 cm in diameter are ideal, ideally a compact, single-tier design. Place them outside of Zone 1 (above the tub) and maintain a minimum height of 2.25 m. A small lantern shape creates presence without crowding.

How high should it hang above the tub?

In bathrooms, the chandelier must be at least 2.25 m from the finished floor to the bottom of the fixture, and located outside Zone 1 (the area directly above the tub or shower up to 2.25 m height). If your ceiling is under 2.5 m, a [Flush Mounts] or semi-flush mount is the better choice. Pair with damp-rated [Wall Sconces] for layered bathroom lighting.
