Vimercati, in depth

Everything you might want to know before ordering a Vimercati piece from VC Gallery.

"How do I know I'm buying an authentic Vimercati piece?"

Vimercati furniture is made by Vimercati in Meda, near Milan. VC Gallery is an authorized Vimercati dealer: orders are placed directly with the company and each piece is covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Authorized dealer. We order every piece from Vimercati; nothing comes from third-party stock.
See it in Milan. Vimercati pieces are on display at our showroom on Via Filippo Turati 3.

If you are comparing Vimercati against unauthorized resellers or classical lookalikes, send us the model name and we will confirm it against the current Vimercati catalogue.

"How is Vimercati furniture delivery calculated?"

Vimercati pieces are made to order after your order is confirmed, then delivered across Italy and Europe. Because each order is different in size, weight and configuration, delivery is calculated separately and included in your quote.

Quote-based. Send us the model names and your delivery address, and we return the delivery cost with the quote.
Made to order. The lead time is confirmed in your quote; for most pieces it is currently about 10 weeks.
Outside Europe. The United Kingdom, the United States and the rest of the world are served on request.

Full terms: Vimercati delivery. Ready to start? Request a quotation with your project details and postcode.

Made in Meda Since 1920

Vimercati was founded in 1920 by Achille Vimercati in Meda, in the Brianza furniture district north of Milan. His sons Marco and Giacomo led the company after him, and today the third generation, the brothers Umberto, Enrico and Sandro, runs the business.

Vimercati makes classic furniture to measure for clients in Italy and abroad, and works on contract projects for homes and hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The company uses eco-sustainable materials in its collections.

The Vimercati Design Voice

Vimercati works within the Italian and European classic tradition, with every piece finished by hand.

Historical styles. Louis XV, Louis XVI, Baroque and the eighteenth-century Lombard style.
Hand craft. Carving, gilding and inlays carried out in the Brianza craft tradition.
Made to measure. Finishes, details and sizes can be adapted to the room and the project.

Vimercati has also developed a collection in a contemporary eclectic style.

"How does a made-to-measure order work?"

Every Vimercati piece is made for a specific project. This is how an order goes:

Send your project. Plans, room dimensions, photos or references: whatever you have.
Proposal and timing. We return a proposal with the cost and the production time for your project. For most orders, production takes about 10 weeks.
Finishes and samples. Choose woods, lacquers, leathers and details at our Milan showroom, or we send finish samples to you.
Made in Meda. Each piece is made and finished by hand in the Vimercati workshop.
Delivery to your project. We organise delivery to your home or site and follow the work through to completion.

"Where can I see and touch Vimercati finishes?"

Vimercati pieces are on display at our showroom on Via Filippo Turati 3, Milan, where you can see the woods, lacquers, leathers and hand-applied details in person.

Finish samples. If you cannot come to Milan, we send samples of the finishes chosen for your project.
Classic and contemporary. Alongside the contemporary pieces shown on this page, Vimercati also makes classic furniture to order.

Carving, Gilding and Inlay in the Vimercati Workshop

Vimercati craftsmanship rests on techniques carried out by hand in Meda.

Carving. Carved details on frames, legs and headboards.
Gilding. Gilded details applied by hand.
Inlay. Wood inlays, as in the Luigi XVI Noce e Intarsi bedroom.
Warranty. Every piece is covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Trade Program and Vimercati Contract Projects
