FAQs
Can the Mercer Square Box Light be installed in a bathroom?
Only outside the wet zones. It is rated IP20, so under CEI 64-8 it must be installed outside zones 0, 1 and 2, more than 60 cm from the edge of the bath or shower. Above the washbasin on the mirror wall is a typical position.
How big is the Mercer Square Box Light?
It is a 30.5 × 30.5 cm square on a 30.5 cm square backplate and projects only 10.2 cm. The shallow profile works on a bathroom wall, in a corridor or on a ceiling where a deeper fixture would be in the way.
What bulbs does the Mercer Square Box Light use?
Two E27 bulbs, A shape, up to 40 W each, for about 1000–1500 lumens in total. The sockets are keyless, so the light is controlled from the wall switch. The white glass hides the bulbs, so standard frosted LEDs work well.
Which finishes are available for the Mercer Square Box Light?
Chrome, Bronze and Polished Nickel, all with white glass. Chrome and Polished Nickel match chrome or nickel taps in a bathroom, while Bronze gives a darker, more traditional frame around the glass.
Who designed the Mercer Square Box Light, and does it need an earth connection?
It is designed by Thomas O'Brien for the Visual Comfort Signature Collection. It is a Class I fixture and must be connected to earth. A Revit family and a SketchUp model are available for this model.
