FAQs

What size painting is the Hessen 12" Picture Light for?

The light is 30.5 cm wide, so it suits frames of roughly 50–60 cm; a picture light should usually cover half to two thirds of the frame width. It projects 22.9 cm to light the canvas from above.

What bulb does the Hessen 12" Picture Light use?

One E27 bulb, T10 tubular shape, LED up to 8 W. The socket is keyless, so it is switched from the wall. LED bulbs are the right choice for artwork because they give off little heat.

What should my electrician know before installing the Hessen 12" Picture Light?

It is hardwired and requires a smaller outlet box behind the 7 × 11.4 cm rectangular backplate, so plan this before plastering. It is 12.1 cm tall and rated IP22 for indoor use.

Which finish is available for the Hessen 12" Picture Light, and who designed it?

It comes in Natural Brass, a warm finish that suits gilded and wood frames as well as classic oil paintings. The design is by Ralph Lauren for the Visual Comfort Signature Collection.
